Admission Procedure
Boys are admitted strictly in order of merit of All India Sainik School Entrance
Examination conducted all over India
every year subject to medical fitness. The admission are made in
Class VI, IX and XI.

Prospectus and application forms for limited seats will be
available for admission to class XI (Science Stream: Physic, Chemistry,
Maths, Computer Science/Biology and English ,Curriculum :CBSE) . Prospectus and application
forms for limited seats will be available on payment of Rs. 300/- in
cash for General/Defence category and Rs. 200/- for SC/ST from school
office or IPO/Bank Draft of Rs. 340/- and Rs. 240/- respectively if
desired by post. Only IPO/Demand
Draft
acceptable in favour of “Principal, Sainik School Purulia".Last
date of receipt of filled application form is 15 May 2007. Date
of written test and interview : 15 June 2007 from 0800 hrs at Sainik
School Purulia. |

Eligibility for Class XI
- Age: Between 15 - 16 years as on 01 July 2008 Born between 02 July 1992 and 01 July 1993.
- Education: Passed Secondary (Class X) board exam(CBSE,ICSE,STATE) as a
regular candidate and must obtain minimum 60% marks in
aggregate and 50% or more marks in each subject.
- Medical Standards: The medical standard for admission
will be as laid down for the National Defence Academy Exam.
Eligible candidates are to appear before the Medical Board,
Command Hospital (EC), Kolkata and found to be medically fit.

Reservation for Class XI- 15% for SC
- 7˝% for ST
- 25% for children of Defence including Ex servicemen
(If suitable candidates not available, the vacancy will be filled from General Category).

Promotion |
|
Are given as per
the rules framed by the board of governors, Sainik School which
lays down that the minimum marks required for class
promotion are 40% in each subject and 50% in aggregate and for
becoming eligible for scholarship, a student is required to
obtain 45% marks in each subject and 55% in aggregate. For
readmission to class XI in science stream only, a boy has to get
50% marks each in Maths and science and 55% marks in aggregate
in Maths and science taken together and 50% marks in aggregate of
all subjects. |
