1.     This year in a very formal and colourful function at Sainik School Purulia Investiture Ceremony was held on 18^th July 2008  in presence of Mr Partha Dey , Education Minister , Govt Of West Bengal as  chief Guest.  Other dignitaries from the town and  district officials  were also present in the function. The very beginning the Chief Guest was given a very smart guard of honour by the cadets of class XII followed by a welcome address by Group captain Vijay kumar Kaushal , Principal of this school.                                                                                                                                    During the course of the ceremony the minister administered oath and pledge to the school captain and other appointments of four different houses.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        In his address the Education Minister Mr Partha Dey also emphasized the future role of cadets in contributing towards nation building. The minister put on a record of appreciation about the standard of drill and discipline of the Sainik School Purulia cadets. He congratulated all those cadets who have been chosen to be given appointments. He was happy and appreciated the fact that Sainik School Purulia is performing very well and consistently getting 100% results in Class- X & XII. The school is also sending a good number of Cadets to NDA and is currently rated in the top three among Sainik Schools located all over India.
