Sainik School Purulia is the only residential English Medium Public School in West Bengal for the boys ,  functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Defence. The aim of the school is to prepare the cadets academically , physically and mentally fit for the entry into National Defence Academy and  above all a good citizen of our country.                                                                                           Investiture Ceremony is one of the prestigious functions of Sainik Schools. It supports the prefectorial system  which leads the cadets to inculcate leadership quality in them .As a result the cadets are groomed as  future leaders in all walks of life. In this system a cadet is assigned with laid down responsibilities to maintain  and help the administration in smooth running of the system. The overall responsibility is entrusted with the school captain. School Games Captain , NCC Under Officer  ,   four Senior House captain ( from class XII , one from each house) ,four House Prefects ( class XI , one from each house ) and four Junior House captain ( from class IX , one from each house) are nominated to assist the school captain in this regard.
