QUALIFYING MARKS IN THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
- For SC/ST candidates - No. minimum marks
- For others - minimum of 25% marks in each subject and 40% marks in
aggregate
The detailed mark list will be made available only after declaration of
final results. The detailed mark list will be supplied only to parents/legal
guardian of candidates on payment of Rs. 50/- to the Principal through DD/IPO.
Copies of Answer Sheet will not be provided at any cost.
CENTRES FOR THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (Std. VI & IX) :
The Entrance Examination will be conducted simultaneously at the following centres
- KOLKATA, PURULIA, BURDWAN & SILIGURI in West Bengal, PORT BLAIR in Andaman and Nicobar Island
- All Sainik Schools and other centres fixed by them in respective State
NOTE
The School authority reserves the right of cancelling any centre, if sufficient
number of candidates are not available for the particular centre. The
applicants should, therefore, also indicate their second choice of centre

Other than tuition fees, all other amounts will
be paid in full at the beginning of the academic year before the 5th of July or
at the time of fresh admission. First installment of tuition fees will be paid
in advance at the time of admission. Final installment is to be paid after the
Puja Break
REMITTANCE TO SCHOOL :
All dues to the school be paid / remitted duly addressed to the Principal, Sainik
School, Purulia. Payment of dues to any member of the school staff for
remittance to school, other than the Accountant is strictly prohibited. Demand
proper receipt, in case of cash payment. Full details of the remittance and the
particulars of the boy, including his Name, Roll no, Class and House should
invariably be written neatly on the application forms/back of Bank Draft. In
case remittance of dues paid by bank draft, the draft to be made in f/o. Principal,
Sainik School Purulia, payable at Purulia
CASH AND VALUABLES
Boys are not permitted to keep cash or valuable articles, transistors / music
system, mobile phoneetc. in their
possession. Money order should not be sent to the boys. All remittances must be
addressed to the Principal only
Scholarship
Liberal scholarship are awarded to the eligible students as follows:
- State Govt. Scholarship (Merit cum Means) :
The Govt. of West Bengal offers full, 3/4 & 1/2 scholarship to all the eligible boys who fulfil the
following conditions :-
- The boy must be a domicile of West Bengal
- To be eligible for a Govt. of W. Bengal
scholarship, a student must secure not less than 50%
of the total marks in the entrance examination for admission to Sainik Schools
- The boys should continue to score a minimum of
45% marks in each subject and 55% marks in aggregate in the annual promotion
exam every year to retain his scholarship.
The rate of West Bengal Govt. Scholarship (Merit cum Means) are determined on the
basis of the total income of the parents as follows:-

Govt. of West Bengal Scholarship Governing Conditions
- Parents of the student must be a Domicile of West Bengal
- Parents/Guardians of the student will have to enter into an Agreement with
the Board of Governors, Sainik Schools Society in the manner and for the purposes
laid down in rule 4 of the West Bengal Sainik Schools Scholarship rules.
- No scholarship shall be awarded if a boy is enjoying any other scholarship or
financial assistance in any shape from any other source.
- The scholarship shall be awarded for one year in
the first instance to be renewed on yearly basis for the full duration of the
student’s course of studies at the Sainik School, subject to periodical reports
from the Principal of the school regarding the student’s general conduct,
discipline, medical fitness and performance and also subject to the further
conditions that the student in receipt of the scholarship has secured not less
than 45% marks in each subjects and 55% marks in aggregate in the annual
examination
- Ministry of Defence Scholarship :
It is available to the children of serving and ex-servicemen
of the three services as per details given below :

- Ministry of Defence Subsidy :
In addition to the above, Ministry of Defence is
providing subsidy of approximately Rs. 10,000/- every year to all the students
as financial assistance
THE RENEWAL OF SCHOLARSHIP :
The renewal of scholarship will be subject to the good conduct and progress of the student. If
at any time the Principal feels that a boy is not justifying the scholarship
granted to him, he may initiate action to withdraw the scholarship. Parents /
guardians will, however, have the option to withdraw their sons/wards from the
school or to pay full fees in such cases
